We will have plenty of fun days out at point to point and National Hunt racing!
We also have a broodmare who has been at Claire Hart Equine for the past three years and is part of the ‘Apple family’ who have a long association with Claire and her race riding career. Her 2023 filly foal is by Planteur and we will be able to follow her journey as she grows throughout this year and beyond. For more details on our ‘foal to racehorse syndicate’ see our syndicates page.
We aim to provide as much online interest and as many days out as possible throughout the year with our horses, even if we don’t have Club runners on racedays. It is also our goal to keep expanding the stable of horses if membership allows.

2017 Brown Gelding
Myfanwy’s Magic (stable name Magic) was bred out of winning supermare Lady Myfanwy who won 30 and was placed in 25 of her 62 point to point races. She and Claire enjoyed many highlights and successes together during Claire’s race riding career. Lady Myfanwy also won 5 and was placed in 7 from 29 runs over fences under rules and we’re hoping her son has some of her stamina and star quality – he certainly has her spark and jumping ability! Magic arrived for backing and early education as a 4 year old in 2021 and spent the winter and early spring doing lots of schooling and getting race fit (that’s him on the home page video). The warm spring weather wasn’t on our side and we ran out of time with the ground to run by the end of the season in 2022, though he learned lots and had earned a break. He came back into work last summer and has been in training since January 2023 with Martin Keighley. He has two very promising bumper runs under his belt and two equally encouraging runs so far over hurdles. He stunned us all ast time out at Warwick running a very close 2nd over 2 miles! We now know we have a racehorse. Martin is very pleased with his progress so far and he will continue as a novice hurdler this season, hopefully he’ll be winning some races for us!
2014 Bay Gelding
Nickolson (stable name Nico) was bought early 2022 out of training with Olly Murphy. He’s a gorgeous strong racehorse who was rated at best 134 over fences and won 2 and placed in 5 of his 12 starts. He is trained by Julie Wadland and will be back pointing over the 23/24 season, following rehab from a minor injury that put us on hold last year but from which he has recovered and he has come out well from his summer break. Julie has put in a lot of hard work with him and we were delighted to have a win with him first time out at Hexham p2p races in November 2022. Julie feels he will continue to be a sub-three miler and will run in the Club colours at p2p and maybe Under Rules if he gets back there. He’s a lovely big talented racehorse and we are excited to see where he takes us next season after his brilliant start.
2018 Bay Gelding
Glenmount (stable name Tony) is our new boy for 23/24 and trained by Julie Wadland. We’ve gone into joint ownership with Julie on this nice prospect from Ireland, brought over in May he’s well bred out of Zafarella by Court Cave. He has run in Irish p2p with similar form to Lagan Valley, who Julie brought on for a brilliant season last year, being placed in 2 and winning 3 of his races for Wadland Racing. He started back in work in August following his summer break, Julie has worked her magic on him and he’s looking really well. We were all delighted when he ran a blinder on debut at Larkhill in November to come a very close 2nd. It will be interesting to see how he gets on this season, hopefully plenty more fun days out with him.
Rosemary Russet (stable name Rosie) retired from racing in 2020 and is part of the ‘Apple Family’ bred by our friends the Marriotts near Chipping Norton. She was a bumper winner and placed numerous times over hurdles and there are plenty of shining lights in her close relatives and the progeny of Midnight Legend and Passing Glance – Strongbow’s Legend, Dabinett Moon, Mr Scrumpy and Glimpse of Gala to name a few. She has proved to be a brilliant mum and has produced two lovely Passing Glance foals, Ronnie Russet in 2021 and Roxy Russet in 2022, Ronnie having just started his early education with Claire. Rosie’s 2023 filly foal at foot is by Planteur (pictured), who will be in the Club for members to follow. We also have a Foal to Racehorse Syndicate for members with a reduced buy-in fee for 2023, please see the syndicates page. Rosie is not in foal this year and will go back to stud next spring, where she goes is yet to be decided.
