We had to make a decision after Mini’s Dream’s run at Worcester on 29th June. She enjoyed herself and didn’t disgrace us, but was just too keen and had nothing left to give in the final furlong or so. As all owners should we had to take the feedback from jockey Harry Bannister and advice from Richard Bandey and decided we would not persevere with her. We cannot afford for the Club to keep going with her showing little promise and decided it was best for her to bring her home for a break and to find her a lovely new home. Claire thinks she will make someone a great project – perhaps show jumping as despite her breeding she loves her jumping – but time will tell.
Sometimes things just don’t work out and it’s important to us that not only we do what’s right for the Club, but above all for the horse and we will keep everyone updated on her progress. Positives from the day were gorgeous weather, a very enjoyable meal in the Owners and Trainers bar and we were very pleased with how our colours looked on first outing!
